The Mac app "can't be opened"
The first time you open the Freesbe desktop app on a Mac, macOS says it can’t be opened, or that it can’t check it for malicious software.
Why it happens
Section titled “Why it happens”The Mac app isn’t signed by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm you trust it. You only need to do this once.
Fix it
Section titled “Fix it”- Click Done or OK on the warning.
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Scroll to the message about Freesbe and click Open Anyway. Confirm with your password or Touch ID.
Freesbe opens. See Install on macOS.
Because the Mac app is unsigned, it can’t update itself either. When a new version is out it
offers to open the download page: download the new .dmg from
freesbe.net/download and drag Freesbe to Applications again, replacing the old one.
Rather not install anything? Freesbe works the same in your browser at app.freesbe.net.
