Connect Jira and send each project to the right channel
Connecting Jira takes about five minutes. You need a Freesbe admin with an Atlassian account that can browse the projects you want, and create issues and comments in them. Freesbe acts in Jira as that account, so a shared admin account works well.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Make the channels first, such as
#opsfor the Operations project and#storefront-devfor the Storefront project. Make a channel private if not everyone in the workspace should see its project. - Note each project’s key, the letters before an issue’s number (
OPSinOPS-7).
In Freesbe
Section titled “In Freesbe”- Open Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Integrations → Dev tools and click Connect Jira.
- Atlassian opens. Pick your site if you have more than one, and click Accept.
- You’re back in Freesbe, and it says Jira connected.
Subscribe the channels
Section titled “Subscribe the channels”- Under Channel subscriptions, click Subscribe a channel.
- Pick the project and the channel. The default posts new issues, status changes and assignments; tick Comments for more.
- Optional: list labels under Only these labels (
customer, urgent) to leave the rest out. - Click Subscribe, then open its ⋯ menu and click Post a sample card to see one in the channel.
People can do the same from the channel itself: /jira subscribe OPS.
Split one project across channels
Section titled “Split one project across channels”Subscribe the same project more than once, each to its own channel with its own picks: for
example everything to #ops, and only issues labelled customer to #support.
See Jira for everything the cards and previews show. If nothing arrives, check the connecting account can browse the project in Jira and that the subscription is on.
