Connect Freesbe to Zapier

How-toFor adminsReviewed Guides: Zapier, Make, n8n and Zoho Flow, Apps

With Zapier you can connect Freesbe to thousands of other apps without writing code: post every new deal from your CRM into #sales, add a ✅ when a ticket closes, or send each meeting recording’s notes to a shared folder. You need to be a Freesbe owner or admin to connect it; after that, anyone with the Zapier account can build Zaps.

  1. In Freesbe, open Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Integrations → Automation and click Connect next to Zapier.
  2. Freesbe shows an API key, starting with fsb-bot-. Copy it: it’s only shown once.
  3. In Zapier, make a Zap and pick Freesbe as the trigger or action app, then click Sign in.
  4. Paste the key into API Key and continue. Zapier names the connection after your workspace.

Connecting makes an app with a bot called Zapier. Everything your Zaps post comes from that bot, so nobody’s account is borrowed, and it keeps working when the workspace requires single sign-on or a second sign-in step.

The bot only hears and posts where it’s a member, like a person.

  • Public channels: pick the channel in the Zap’s trigger or action, and the bot joins by itself.
  • Private channels and DMs: add Zapier from the channel’s member list first.
  1. Trigger: your CRM’s “New deal”.
  2. Action: Freesbe → Send a message. Pick #sales and write the message with the deal’s fields, for example New deal: *{{Deal name}}* for {{Amount}}.
  3. Test the step, then turn the Zap on.

Freesbe triggers you can start a Zap with: New message, New mention of the bot, New reaction, New file, New channel, New person, Meeting scheduled and Recording ready. Actions: Send a message, Send a direct message, Add a reaction and Create a channel, plus searches to Find a person, Find a channel and Find messages. Freesbe sends each event the moment it happens, so Zaps start right away.

Each Zap that starts with a Freesbe trigger shows under Triggers listening in Integrations → Automation, with its channel and since when. Click a trigger’s bin to stop it, and turn the Zap off in Zapier too, or it comes back the next time the Zap is turned on.

  • Zapier says the key doesn’t work. It was copied wrong, or someone clicked New API key, which stops the old one at once. Click New API key and paste the new one into the Zapier connection.
  • A Zap never starts. Check the bot is in the channel, and that the Zap is on. The bot never hears its own messages, so a Zap that posts can’t start itself.
  • You want to stop everything. Turn off or delete the Zapier app in Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Apps. All its triggers stop.

See Zapier, Make, n8n and Zoho Flow for every trigger’s fields.
